Job: Full-time mother, part-time caretaker, full-time veterinary clinic worker.

Early Bird or Night Owl: Early bird.

Favorite thing to do with your Family: Hike, day-trips,

Coffee or Tea: Coffee, because I don’t claim to be a superhero who runs on natural energy alone.

Going back in time, one thing you would tell yourself right before you became a mother: Don’t sweat the small stuff, like a dirty bathroom or a basket full of laundry that needs to be put away. Also, do not feel badly about putting a screaming child in the car and driving for several hours until they fall asleep. Sometimes arms need a break from carrying bricks, er, I mean a baby.

Best Mom Hack: Lollipops to get through a shopping trip.

The greatest challenge you’ve faced: Becoming a single mother to not only humans, but animals. Learning how to take care of myself as well as other living beings.

Something you love about yourself: I love my ability to adapt to my environment. There is no change I can’t ‘make work’.

Favorite thing about being a Mom: Teaching these little humans to love themselves as much as I love them. What a beautiful process that is.

Moira is the mother to one crazy toddler, two equally as crazy furry children and has been a Flagstaff resident for a lucky ten years. Her day job includes caring for animals in the Flagstaff community and strives to find the joy and humor in every-day life as a solo-parent. This little family can most often be found on an off-beaten trail or wondering the Target isles before nap time. Moira is passionate about being outdoors, living simply and naturally, and would choose coffee over tea any day.
