Guide to Birthdays in Flagstaff

3

As winter approaches I always start thinking about birthday parties, since my boys were born in November and December! We have had a lot of birthday parties in Flagstaff and I am always looking for new ideas. Here is a list of a few cold weather parties locations and a few warm weather ideas too (since you never know with the weather here in Northern Arizona!).

Some years I prefer paying more to host a party somewhere and sometimes I love to host the party at home or at a park, where you save some money but are doing a bit more work to help entertain the kids.

For younger boys, we had loved a scavenger hunt party, a Lego party and a Hot Wheels party. One of the best ones we hosted was a sledding party in the woods a few years ago! Pinterest is full of ideas for at home birthday parties for all ages.

Here is a list of a few places in Flagstaff to have a kids birthday party, with some ideas for all ages:

Aquaplex– swimming, climbing, game room and more!

Bowling

City Parks- so many options here!

Climbing Gyms- Flagstaff Climbing and Beta Bouldering

Escape Rooms- Flagstaff Escape Space and Flagstaff Escape Rooms

Flagstaff Extreme Course

Flag Tag

Gymnastics- Summit Gym (among other things Summit Gym offers a nerf gun party!) and Flagstaff Gymnastics

Ice Rink

Lake Mary

Martial Arts – Maximun Martial Arts, Sleeping Lion and Academy of the Martial Way

Movie theatre

Music Together

Peter Piper Pizza

Katie Woodard
Katie has lived in Flagstaff for 22 years and grew up in North Carolina. She has 10 and 12 year old boys who are certainly an adventure! Her family is by far the most rewarding part of her life. Katie loves hiking and running in our beautiful hills, skiing, river rafting, traveling, health and clean eating (thanks to a whacky thyroid). She is also always taking small steps to clean up our environment, and she is currently learning meditation and just loves learning in general! Katie and her college roommate drove to AZ from VA after college and Katie has only left briefly but Flagstaff is her home for sure! She met her wonderful husband while river guiding in the Grand Canyon. Katie is a family photographer at www.katiewoodardphotography.com, here in Flagstaff and loves capturing the natural love and beauty in families. Her newest fun adventure is co-founding Women Empowering Northern Arizona.

  1. We had a Minute-to- win-it party for my son in February. Pinterest had ideas on games. Chose a few and alternated indoor vs outdoor to keep the noise level sane. The best game was eating a donut off a string using only mouths. Prizes definitely kept boys motivated!
