I’m pretty terrible at doing routine deep cleans, but my mom is a professional. Here are some tips beyond the typical “wipe down” that we all usually do.
- Disinfect light switches, door knobs, and refrigerator doors
- Empty the fridge and disinfect all shelves; clean the top of your fridge
- Replace your air filter
- Dust mini blinds and fans
- Clean the outside and bottom of your toilet, as well as behind the toilet and the handle
- Scrub your baseboards
- Wash hand towels regularly and hand towel racks
- Wash or beat rugs and leave them for awhile in direct sunlight (unless you think they could fade)
- Remove all couch cushions and steam clean or vacuum couch
- Disinfect or wash all baby equipment (exersaucers, pacifiers, high chairs, car seats, toys) as often as possible
To keep healthy my family is also:
- Taking elderberry vitamins
- Getting regular sunlight
- Gargling with lemon water every day
- Washing our hands with foaming soap
- Drinking warm drinks (tea)
- Applying oregano essential oil on the bottoms of our feet twice a day
- Getting enough sleep
- Replacing our toothbrushes, shower curtains, and bath mats
