4th of July Bacon Cheddar Hamburgers

In my last post I talked about the burgers I make for special occasions. Consequently, I got a little flack from some friends that I didn’t include the recipes for said burgers. So, here is a post all about my beloved tasty hamburgers. These would be perfect for a 4th of July Cookout!

One of my favorite things to do on a regular basis is cooking! If you were to ask any one of my close friends they would say without a doubt that I enjoy cooking.  This means that I have come up with my own recipes for several items over the years. However, you could also talk to my husband and he’ll tell you I am awful at following recipes and writing down my own “creations.” Therefore, you should feel greatly privileged that I can share this recipe with you!

This Bacon Cheddar Hamburger recipe was inspired by my desire for a “fancy” burger option. When my husband and I lived in California we owned a business, and we often looked forward to having nice meals during our lunch breaks!

I start with lean ground beef, and add in bacon, cheese, onion, and seasonings. If I am going to add fat I want it to be tasty fat, and who doesn’t love bacon and cheese?! Well, I know not everyone does but  let’s be real more often than not people do love these things! I usually make these burgers into 5-7 ounce burgers, they are definitely a splurge! I grill these to the consumers desired doneness, which for my husband is medium-well but for me it’s medium. So without further delay here is the recipe. Let me know what you think after you try them!

Here’s a link to a time-lapse video of the assembly process if you are interested.

Here is a link to a meat temperature chart if you need help figuring out what temperature you’d like to cook your burger to.

Finally, tell me in the comments what are your favorite toppings for hamburgers?
